Hi, I'm Jamie, and I am a soccer mom. Like so many parents, I spend countless hours hauling our daughters to practices, games, and tournaments throughout the year.

Picture this: You pull up to your child’s tournament, and the car thermometer reads 100°F with 92% humidity. You already know what the next four hours will feel like—relentless sun, oppressive heat, and everyone on the sidelines sweating to the point where they feel like they’re melting.

I had come to dread it, and why I became the inspiration for the Blizzard Backpack.

Here’s where the story gets interesting. My husband is an inventor who has developed products that sold through many major retailers, and after years of suffering through the same brutally hot sporting events, he’d had enough as well.

So he assembled a small, pioneering team of engineers and HVAC professionals around one challenge:

How do you create real, effective personal air conditioning when you’re outdoors and essentially off the grid?

For three years, the team designed, built, tested, and refined their ice powered invention.

The result was the Blizzard Backpack—a new way to bring powerful, portable cooling anywhere.
